Savage loot rules: chests, weekly lockout and books

The savage chest rule (2 / 1 / 0)

The number of treasure chests in a savage clear depends on how many party members have already cleared that floor during the week: 0 cleared = 2 chests, 1–4 = 1 chest, 5+ = 0 chests. A static clearing together gets 2 chests every week; joining party-finder reclear groups can reduce (or remove) the chests.

The weekly reset is Tuesday 08:00 UTC. Loot rights do not carry over to the next week.

Per-floor drops in AAC Heavyweight (Savage)

The lists below show the combined contents of the two chests (all eight members uncleared that week). Weeks with only one chest yield roughly half.

  • Floor 1 — 3 accessory coffers (random slots each week, IL790)
  • Floor 2 — 2 random coffers from head/hands/feet + the weapon exchange tomestone + the accessory upgrade material
  • Floor 3 — body/legs coffers + weapon and armor upgrade materials for tome gear
  • Floor 4 — weapon coffer (IL795), plus a direct weapon drop and a mount

How books work

Each weekly clear of a floor awards one book for that floor to every eligible member — no rolling needed. Books can be exchanged for gear and upgrade materials, acting as bad-luck protection: even if you lose every roll, books guarantee gear eventually.

Common static loot systems

  • BiS priority — everyone shares a BiS plan up front; drops go to whoever needs them for BiS, usually the member with the fewest items so far. Least waste, most predictable. This tool is built around this system.
  • Free roll — everyone who wants it rolls. Simple, but unlucky streaks slow the whole group down. Often used for leftovers and alt jobs.
  • Hybrid — priority for key slots (weapon, body), free roll for the rest. Most statics end up here.

Avoiding loot drama

  • Agree on written loot rules before progression starts
  • Collect BiS plans early and clarify the two ring slots (savage ring + augmented ring)
  • Decide in advance how member swaps affect loot counts
  • Log drops as they happen — reconstructing weeks later causes the most arguments

To make logging painless, keep the weekly log open during raid and assign each drop as it appears.

FAQ

Do chests still drop if one member already cleared this week?
Yes — with 1–4 already-cleared members you get 1 chest. With 5 or more, no chests drop and you only get books.
Who receives books?
Every member clearing that floor for the first time that week receives one book — no rolling. Members re-clearing get nothing.
Floor 4 weapons: coffer or direct drop?
The floor 4 chest contains a job-selectable weapon coffer, and a specific job weapon can also drop directly. Most groups give the direct drop to the matching job and distribute the coffer by their loot rules.
Which floors drop tome upgrade materials?
The accessory material drops on floor 2; the weapon and armor materials drop on floor 3. All can also be bought with books (accessory: 3× floor-2 books, weapon/armor: 4× floor-3 books).
